Lake Mistassini is the largest natural lake by surface area in the province of Quebec, with a total surface area of 2, km² and a net area of 2, km².It is located in the Jamésie region of the province kilometers east of James Bay; the Cree town of Mistissini is located on Watson Peninsula in the south-east corner of the lake, which separates Baie du Poste from Abatagouche Bay. The various Majescor holdings forming part of the Mistassini project lie on the following five NTS map . Lake Albanel is located east of Lake Mistassini and covers a total area of approximately square kilometres ( sq mi). It is located in the region of Jamésie. Quebec Route ends beside this lake. It is entirely located in the protected area of Lacs-Albanel-Mistassini-et-Waconichi.

Mistissini (Cree: meaning Big Rock) is a Cree town located in the south-east corner of the largest natural lake in Quebec, Lake Mistassini ( km long by 30 km wide). The town is inside the boundaries of the Baie-James Municipality and is the largest Cree community, with a population of 3, people in Colonization history of lake-migratory brook trout in Mistassini Lake. The sequential reconstruction of the lake following glacial recession is indicated by steps I-III (approximately 7,, Mistastin crater is a meteorite crater in Labrador, Canada which contains the roughly circular Mistastin Lake. The lake is approximately 16 km ( mi) in diameter, while the estimated diameter of the original crater is 28 km (17 mi). The age of the crater is calculated to be ± 4 million years.
